The federal rule applies nationwide
The Interactive Gambling Act governs services offered to people physically present in Australia. Online casino services cannot be offered in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT or the Northern Territory. A state-based search term, local IP address or regional promotion does not change that national position.
- AOne federal framework

- CNo state casino exception

State and territory bodies still have distinct roles
Local regulators oversee areas such as land-based gambling, venue conduct and licences within their powers, while ACMA enforces the federal interactive-gambling framework. Complaints should be directed according to service type and issue. A body responsible for a local casino venue does not automatically regulate an offshore website using casino imagery.
- AService type matters
